About this guide
A consumer resource for people in Greater Houston who need a plumber and want to hire carefully.
What it is
Plain-language guides to common Houston plumbing problems, the Texas licensing system and local permit offices, plus a small directory of area plumbing companies with every fact sourced and labeled.
What it isn't
- We are not a plumbing company and don't do plumbing work.
- We don't dispatch plumbers, take bookings or sell your information to contractors.
- There are no forms that collect your details and no call tracking. We list each company's own phone number and website as plain text and don't link to them.
Who runs it
The guide is published independently and is not affiliated with any plumbing company, trade group or government agency. Corrections and listing questions go to hello@houstonplumberguide.com.
Why Houston needs its own guide
Houston plumbing has local quirks: shifting clay soils under slab foundations, hard freezes that the housing stock wasn't built for, hurricane-season sewer backups, and a patchwork of city and county permit rules across the metro. Our Houston plumbing facts page collects the sourced details.
